2022 - what a year!

The 2022 Wedding Season was officially the busiest ever - with an estimated 500,000 taking place in the UK alone. It’s little surprise given the two years we had previously - so many weddings were out on hold during the pandemic. My diary was certainly full of as many postponement dates as first dates in the last twelve months. 2022 was the year we all caught up - I had dozens of delayed dates finally going ahead - several with extra tiny bridal party members. Weddings may have paused during the pandemic but babies did not!

My 2022 roundup

my busiest year ever!

2022 started with a New Year bout of Covid. But January was still a busy month packed full of enquiries from newly engaged brides and then cracking on with the first of the year’s trials.

I have had 65 brides in my bridal makeup chair this year and countless Bridesmaid makeups and Mothers of the Bride makeups too. I have visited some beautiful new venues for the first time. 2022 saw my first visit to lovely Brinsop Court in Herefordshire as a makeup artist. The light in the bridal suite is some of the best in the country for bridal prep.

I have visited new venues throughout the Midlands, Herefordshire (Wilde Lodge and Lower House Farm stand out) and I have visited The Cotswolds more than ever this year with brides at Yard Space in Old Gore, The Barn at Upcote & Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire. All absolutely gorgeous venues that I look forward to visiting again this year and next.

My favourite venues

familiar faces & familiar spaces

2022 of course saw me return to some of my most visited and favourite venues. In Herefordshire I always love a Dewsall Court Wedding and I have happily returned to Homme House several times this year (another beautiful country house with absolutely perfect natural light for bridal makeup prep).

Malvern wedding venues that I am always happy to revisit are Stanbrook Abbey, Birtsmorton Court and beautiful Barns & Yard where I have spent many happy mornings this year.

And my most local venues have proved popular this year with me providing makeup for lots of brides at Curradine Barns (a five minute drive from me - the dream in the midst of a Summer of long crack of dawn drives!), and weddings at Crumplebury and probably my most visited venue of the year Bredenbury Court.

Award Winning Makeup Artist

The year was topped off with me receiving a Highly Commended Award at The Wedding Industry Awards for West Midlands Makeup Artist 2023. Two thirds of my eligible brides took the time to vote for me which is incredible. A hugely exciting end to a hugely rewarding year.
